Canada to Continue Partnership with UCA

His Excellency Nicholas Brousseau, Canadian Ambassador to Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and Tajikistan, and Frederic Laberge, Second Secretary (Commercial) and Trade Commissioner of the Canadian Embassy in Kazakhstan, met with senior leadership of the University of Central Asia at the Central Administration Office in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on May 24th. Dr Shamsh Kassim-Lakha, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of UCA, welcomed the Ambassador and gave a presentation on UCA and the Aga Khan Development Network, and conveyed appreciation of Canada’s over four decades’ of association with AKDN and support of UCA’s programmes. Dr Marc Foggin, Associate Director, Mountain Societies Research Institute and Dr Roman Mogilevskii, Associate Director, Institute of Public Policy and Administration also made brief presentations on UCA’s research institutes. The Ambassador was impressed by the work of AKDN globally, and UCA regionally, and reiterated Canada’s continued support for UCA’s initiatives.
