PhD scholarship programmes for the 2012-2013 academic year
The Central Asian Faculty Development Programme (CAFDP) of the University of Central Asia (UCA) is pleased to announce its 2012-13 scholarships for Doctorate (PhD) level studies at partner institutions around the world, including Canada, Germany, Singapore, United Kingdom, United States of America and other countries.
The CAFDP provides full scholarships to candidates from Central Asia interested in an academic career at UCA and willing to make a commitment to work as researchers and/or teaching faculty at the Graduate School of Development and the undergraduate School of Arts and Sciences upon completion of their studies at UCA’s campuses in Khorog (Tajikistan), Naryn (Kyrgyzstan) and Tekeli (Kazakhstan).
For this round, UCA is seeking eligible applicants for the following fields of study at its partner institutions:
Geosciences including environmental hazards, earthquakes, and disasters; Environment, Natural Resource Management, and Rural Development; and Cultural Heritage. These fields are supported through the UCA-University of Montana (UM), United States partnership.
Mountain Tourism and Ethnomusicology supported through the UCA-University of Alberta (U of A), Canada partnership.
Application to the CAFDP Scholarship is a two-step process:
- Eligibility for CAFDP
All applicants are required to first meet the eligibility criteria put forth by UCA for the scholarship; and - Admission to Partner University
Candidates considered eligible will then be invited to submit full applications to the individual partner universities to secure admission. UCA reserves the right to select the university based on students’ field of study and available programmes at partner institutions.
