Date: 13 September 2018
Amanbek Ismailov (on horse) works at UCA’s Naryn Campus and raises eagles in his spare time. Originally from Alysh Village, Amanbek began hunting with eagles in Grade 7, and is currently raising an eagle named “Oimok”. Many awards, and even a film called “Oimok” has made this eagle a celebrity.

While Amanbek acted as a referee during the World Nomad Games in Issyk-Kul in September, his brother Nurbek Ismailov (below with medal) performed with Oimok in an eagle hunting competition. Amanbek’s eagle won a Gold Medal, beating competitors from Russia and Kazakhstan. Congratulations!
