Every year, the Peace Foundation organises a Youth Peace Week to promote peace education across the globe. The University of Central Asia joined the initiative this year, and held ‘UCA Youth Peace Week’ at the Naryn and Khorog campuses from September 28th to October 1st.

A number of activities were organised such as open-air movie nights, presentations on the atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki and peace parties. UCA undergraduate students joined more than 144 schools around the world to spread the word of peace, raise awareness about the dangers of nuclear weapons, learn more about climate change, and celebrate what one can do to protect the environment. The theme of the week was “Tiakina A Tatou Ao - Protect our Planet”, and it sought to educate and inspire UCA students on the global movement for peace.
