Kyrgyz Language Day in Naryn

University of Central Asia freshmen students participated in a Kyrgyz Language Day celebration at the Naryn Oblast Central Library, which brought together people of different nationalities who are learning the Kyrgyz language. During the event on September 26th, UCA students addressed participants in Kyrgyz, spoke about their positive experiences studying Kyrgyz at UCA, read extracts from Chyngyz Aitmatov's novels (a famous Kyrgyz writer), and UCA student Aigerim Dzhaanbaeva played the chopo-choor, a Kyrgyz national instrument.

Ahmad Shah, UCA Librarian, also addressed the audience and highlighted that learning the language is about getting to know more about Kyrgyz culture and cultural heritage, and for non-native speakers it is a bridge towards learning the culture.
