On 6 February the Kyrgyz TV and Radiobroadcasting Corporation (KTRK) with the support from the University of Central Asia organized a one-day training, which was delivered by famous documentalist and director Andrew Tkach. The 8 Emmy Awards Winner shared his experience with the staff of the corporation. Organized by the Protocol and International Relations Department, the training was attended by 40 staff members of KTRK.
Andrew Tkach demonstrated his documentaries and shared his experience. He also invited KTRK to cooperate, stating that he could provide the corporation with some movies. The International Department is now organizing respective negotiations and will try to find a way to get the rights to broadcast the documentaries, so they can be watched by the entire nation.
Next week, he is conducting various sessions and workshops on film-making at UCA’s Naryn campus for one week. UCA students are also benefiting from the University’s high caliber international and regional faculty, and access to a state-of-the-art media lab and TV production studio provides the opportunity to build multimedia skills transferable to different media platforms and careers in the communication and the media industry.
UCA’s Communications and Media programme offers an integrated approach to journalism, news media, strategic communication, multi-media design, media production, media law, management, and ethics and social responsibility. Intensive language courses ensures graduates have superior fluency in several languages. Partnerships with Central Asia based regional and international media and other organisations at governmental, NGO and community levels also provides enriching opportunities for internships that are integral to the learning experience at UCA’s communication and media programme.
