Applied Research Design for Beginners
The University of Central Asia’s (UCA) Institute of Public Policy and Administration (IPPA) conducted a two-week course on applied research design for 37 participants in Bishkek. It taught learners the basics of designing applied research projects, and was targeted towards independent analysts and staff at think-tanks, civil servants, and non-governmental organisations who wish to acquire applied research skills.

On June 14th, Issyk-Kul was the site of the forth International Mental Arithmetic Competition. There was much excitement as 500 students started arriving from eight countries: Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Lebanon and India. Nine mental math students from UCA participated from Naryn, Khorog and Dushanbe.

UCA Participates in Naryn Town Development
The Naryn town administration launched a round-table on May 31st to discuss the Naryn town socio-economic development programme from 2018 to 2022. It was organised as part of the Regional Development Concept of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. The meeting discussed possible development projects in Naryn, including potential collaboration with neighboring regions including At-Bashy and Ak-Talaa.
